Pritam Baruah is currently Associate Professor of Law and Executive Director of Centre on Public Law and Jurisprudence at Jindal Global Law School. He was Assistant Professor of Law at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata from 2008-2013, where he taught jurisprudence, property law, constitutional law, and political theory. Between 2010-2014 he was a teaching fellow and commonwealth doctoral scholar at University College London. Pritam was one of the founding convenors of the UCL Legal Philosophy Forum- a forum for academics to present work in progress. Pritam has also taught comparative constitutional law as a visiting professor at the University of Ottawa. Previously he practiced law in Delhi, primarily at the Supreme Court of India, in the areas of employment law, criminal law, constitutional law and administrative law. During his time at the Delhi Bar he argued matters before diverse forums including the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court, and the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. Pritam also worked for the Central Vigilance Commission on the Public Distribution System constituted by the Supreme Court of India, chaired by Retired Justice DP Wadhwa.
