Agriculture is at the heart of vital social, political, and ecological issues. The way we organise food production will pay a large part in determining India’s, and the world’s, future. We want to explore this, and more, in our new issue.

Some broad, overlapping areas we are keen to look into:

  • Farming practices and climate change

  • The future of sustainable farming

  • The social and political challenges faced by farmers today

  • GE crops – the good, the bad, the ugly

  • The impacts of globalisation

These are just some ideas but if you have anything else that is related to the topic, we want to hear from you.

We understand that writing requires effort and energy. We therefore request you to send us an abstract outlining the main points of your article before you start writing. If our editors select your abstract, we will then ask you to start writing your final piece.

However, for us to be able to fully understand the scope of your article, we request you to follow these main guidelines while submitting your abstracts:

  • Your abstract must be 500 words.

  • It must clearly state the main topic of your article. The reader should know what your article will be about by reading your abstract.

  • It should not be a part of your article (eg. the introduction or the conclusion) but a synopsis of it.

  • It should include any research, texts, books, or any other secondary sources that you wish to discuss in your article.

Please note we only accept previously unpublished pieces.

The deadline for submitting the abstract is November 15th.

If your abstract gets selected, our editors will work with you to prepare your article for publication.

Please submit your abstract through this form
